Recording Audio

Recording the audio of your “Flocab” video is easy, but it might take you some repetitions to get it just right. You’ll need 1) a melody to go with it if you’re singing, and 2) a beat if you’re doing a rap. Our version is a rap, so we went to YouTube to find a beat, but if you’re doing a song, consider all the karaoke “music only” melodies available.

1. GroovePad (phone app – search in your Apple or Google Play store)
2. Giada (downloadable software)
3. Beatmaker (web app)

1. PRACTICE!!! you will need to practice your rap with your music or beat. Don’t bother recording until you’ve performed it perfectly with no recorder.
2. Record your song or rap. The easiest way is to use your built-in phone recorder, but if you’re playing your beat or music on your phone, you may need to use your laptop or Chromebook. Consider these tools:

   2. Vocaroo (Web App)
   3. Rev (Web App)
   4. Voice Recorder & Audio Editor (Apple Store)

Whatever app you choose, it will take a few tries to get it right. Be patient with yourself.
