The Lyrics
The first step in the process is to create lyrics for your song or rap. This can be time-consuming, but it can
also be fun.
- Paraphrase the story or content that you’d like to teach.
- Add a rhyme scheme – couplets (every 2 lines rhyme) are easiest and often create more noticeable
rhyme in the song/rap. - Keep your lines similar in length. 8 or 10 syllables per line is more than enough.
- For a rap, you’ll have to find a usable beat. There are LOTS on YouTube.
Here is the Rubric that the teacher will use to grade your lyrics.
